It is silver, and thick walled to give it a darker, richer sound.The lip plate and riser are platinum which gives it greater projection. This is a very powerful headjoint. Currently, if ordered from America you can only get the platinum riser but not the lip plate. It costs around $2500 brand new. I am asking $1900. Its price is going up every year because of the metal value. There are slight scratches, but it still plays as well as the first day I got it. I have really loved playing on this headjoint and I hate to sell it, but I must for financial reasons.
