Experience Music Project|Science Fiction Museum (EMP|SFM) is seeking a part-time Payroll Clerk. EMP|SFM is a one-of-a-kind museum combining interactive and interpretive exhibits to tell the story of the creative, innovative and rebellious expression that defines American popular music and the Science Fiction genre. Featuring a world-class collection of artifacts, unique architecture by Frank O. Gehry, state-of-the-art technology, and exciting interactive presentations, EMP|SFM will encourage visitors of all ages and backgrounds to experience music and science fiction in its many forms. Summary: This position is responsible for coordinating bi-weekly payroll for the organization.This includes; accurate payroll data entry, deductions and taxes, reconciliation of payroll accounts, and payroll reporting.This position is also responsible for coordinating payroll related problem solving and responding to related staff queries. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: •Coordinate and enter all aspects of payroll processing to insure accurate and timely transmission of payroll to Payroll Provider •Work closely with HR to maintain and insure the accuracy of information for HRIS and Payroll systems and resolve related issues •Work closely with other members of Finance department to reconcile, monitor, research and resolve problems related to miscellaneous payroll accounts and prepare monthly journal entries •401(K) and Flex-Plan Administration – including billing, on-line reporting, and other duties as applicable •Coordinate the maintenance of payroll software, research and resolve problems with payroll provider •Interface with Payroll Provider as primary contact, to ensure processes are accurate and are in compliance with current state/federal tax laws •Answer employee pay questions and provide information or research payroll related issues as requested in a positive and timely manner. •Prepare year-end payroll reports and W-2’s as needed •Create/prepare miscellaneous management reports •Coordinate various payroll related projects or special tasks Skills and Experience: •Adherence to confidentiality standards essential •Excellent verbal and written communication skills required •Proven ability to provide effective customer service for internal and external client groups •High level of integrity and ethics essential •Knowledge of payroll principles and practices required •Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, Outlook) required •Proficiency with Payroll and Accounting software required, experience with Paychex and Stromberg strongly preferred •Working knowledge of HRIS software desired •Must be detail oriented, with strong organizational skills in order to manage a continuous workflow in a fast-pace, multi-tasking environment •Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment essential Education/Certifications: •CPP preferred •3-5 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience •AA Degree in Accounting or Business Administration desirable To Apply: send an e-mail and resume to jobs@empsfm.org EMP|SFM is an Equal Opportunity Employer
